We were recently checking out an article about Lava Mae on Cassandra Daily, when we came across another project benefiting the homeless. This one is set in Slovakia. What the Gregory Project is doing? Turning billboards into living spaces for the homeless.
Project Gregory, as it’s called, is run by the architectural firm DesignDevelop. The triangular-shaped structures house two rooms with full electricity and running water, etc.
How these features are paid for? They’re subsidized by billboard rentals, of course.
The first of two rooms contains an entrance hall, kitchen, platform bed, office area and storage.
As for the bath area, a sink and shower corner complete the set-up.
We’re loving this concept. We think other countries should follow in Slovakia’s path, bringing billboards alive as housing to those in need.
