Bringing this theatrical interpretation of the critically acclaimed film U-Carmen eKhayelitsha to the stage is South Africa’s Isango Ensemble.
The film won the 2005 Golden Bear for best film at Berlinale. The story centers around the personalities in a township, most notably, Carmen, who’s bewitched the local men. Who she’ll choose as a lover… well, that’s a question everyone wants answered.
