Hello old friend aka Art Love Mondays! What we couldn’t wait to share with you today — a special project through The Getty Center with artist Barbara Kruger — Whose Values?

Whose Values? is a collaborative art project that Kruger, a Getty Artists Program invitee, undertook with 400+ high school students in the Los Angeles area.

The focus of the project: themes of social justice, identity, race, gender, and advocacy.

Kruger was quoted as saying, “The Getty Artists Program is an opportunity for me to encourage students to try to visualize, musicalize, and textualize their experience in the world. I know that this creation of commentary can change lives, encourage ambition, and suggest the pleasure of learning.”

A large scale mural was constructed at The Getty with insights from the students.

And though the exhibition has now closed, the questions it evoked continue to spur conversations.

What do you hope for? What do you fear? Just for whom? What do you value? Share your answers with us.
