Starting tomorrow — the LA Auto Show. You can catch all the action at the Los Angeles Convention Center through November 30. And there’s a lot to see.
One of our favorite aspects of the show is the unveiling of new models. We’re particularly psyched to see Fisker’s carbon fiber-bodied “Ultimate American Muscle Car” (tease image pictured above).
And we’ve heard rumors Audi is debuting a vehicle that may be a four-door sedan A9. Indeed, over 60 new models of vehicles are set for unveiling including those from Acura, BMW, Chrysler, General Motors, Hyundai, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Scion, Toyota, Volvo and Volkswagen.
With an eye to the future is the LA Design Challenge, which looks at how we’ll be interacting with our vehicles in 2029. Already gaining buzz is Infiniti’s Synaptiq concept. Auto Blog referred to it as, “Less a car and more of a set of interlocking pieces, the Synaptiq is termed a “universal fuselage pod,” a teardrop-shaped capsule with a liquid-crystal canopy that can be fitted to different propulsion devices: a Formula One-like chassis, a desert buggy rig and a jet airframe.”
Um, we want one. Especially since it comes with a Synaptic S.U.I.T. (Symbiotic User Interface Technology) for drivers that’s fitted with biometric sensors and synthetic muscles and spinal lock attachment.
