LEGOs and dragons — two things we at Daily Concepts think are pretty neat. So when we heard a hotel was opening at LEGOLAND California Resort, we had to take a look.
A hop, skip and an Amtrak train found us in Carlsbad, California. Here, we made our way to the new hotel. Excitement hit upon spotting those primary-colored LEGO bricks on the exterior of the hotel. There was more to see on the outside as well, including a clock tower, conductor and, yes, a smoke-breathing dragon.
Still to explore on the inside were close to 3,500 models.
Dragon alert at the reception desk!
Enormously fun is the Whoopee Cushion just outside the Disco Elevator. Speaking of which, um, we’ll admit it, we went up and down the elevator more times than necessary just so we could keep dancing.
The three-story hotel has 250-rooms and three levels of accommodations — Suites, as well as Themed and Premium Themed rooms. All rooms have separate sleeping quarters for kids with bunk and trundle beds. Two televisions (there are three in the suites) allow grown-ups and little ones to watch and play their favorite shows/games simultaneously.
We hit Brick’s Family Restaurant for meals and Mini’s Lounge and Skyline Lounge for between-meal bites (Hey, swimming in the family pool works up an appetite!).
What we particularly love is that LEGOLAND California Resort is literally just steps away from the front door. Speaking of which… Dragon Alert! Yep, we think we’re gonna like it here.
