According to the American Association of Suicidology, there are approximately 4.6 million suicide survivors in the United States, as of 2011. Suicide is the 9th leading cause of death in the United States, climbing from 11th since 2009.
A study recent study conducted by the VA reveals that nearly 18% of the 33,000 deaths per year are veterans. Furthermore, it has been discovered that nearly 20 veterans will commit suicide daily.
