Whilst walking down Eagle Rock Boulevard (in Eagle Rock, of course), we spotted O & M Leather. It was actually a leather dog in the window that caught our eye. Had our photography skills been up to par, we’d have shared a pic with you.
What piqued our interest in particular was this sign. DIY leather crafts (sort of)! How cool!
We met Oscar Morales, who co-owns O&M with his wife Michelle Trayfoot-Morales. (Their panniers rock!)
Where the magic happens…
In this cool workshop in the back. We’re picturing ourselves in an apron like Oscar’s working away on a leather project…
What kinds of items O & M has for sale —
We’re digging on these pouches.
Not to mention Michelle’s custom jewelry…
Be sure to check out her rings, as well. Got a size four finger. She can customize to fit you.
But we digress. Back to info about the leather crafting classes.
They offer four levels of classes:
Leather I Leather Basics $200
Leather II Cutting and Skiving $200
Leather III Hand stitching $200
Leather IV Color, Finishes and Leather $200
Classes run six to eight hours, materials are provided.
And not to be left out, youngsters can take Kids’ Jewelry Stamping Class (ages seven and up) for $100
So grab an apron from home and sign up! There’s leather to be crafted!
