At Daily Concepts, we love our furry family members.
As a matter of fact, Dash, who was adopted by DC team member Bekah, just turned 10 yesterday.
As for Tala and Rocco, we’ve heard Emilio lets them choose the radio station on road trips (we suspect he might even let them drive…).
So when we heard about this Saturday’s Race for the Rescues event in Los Angeles, we just had to share.
Sponsored by The Rescue Train, this race/walk/run not only helps felines, but dogs, horses, farm animals and even guinea pigs.
In its 10th year, Race for the Rescues takes place from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. There’s lots happening, too, beyond getting pulses revved up on the race route.
Hosting the event is actress Jane Lynch from the former television series Glee. The photo below from her Facebook page shows Lynch out on National Dog Day with her two BFFs (Best Furry Friends).
Jane will be keeping Race for the Rescue attendees current on activities like face painting, pet psychic readings, line dancing and, of course, animal adoptions. Also on tap — prizes for race winners and top fundraisers, giveaways, product vendors and food trucks.
What happens with the donations raised? They go towards helping unite families with animals, as well community programs that include veterinary care for the pets of low-income families, free spay and neuter clinics and a shelter intervention program.
Another reason you’ll want to contribute towards the cause… the event is FREE!
Head over on Saturday. You might just return home with your new BFF, Best Furry Friend.
